China's Atomic Energy Authority- HL-2M Tokamak reactor

HL 2M Tokomak is the largest and most advanced nuclear fusion experimental research device. It is named as Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokomak. It's named as Artificial Sun due to enormous heat and power it produces.

There is an use of magnetic field to fuse hot plasma and can reach temperatures of over 150 million degrees. That's nearly 10 times hotter than the core of the sun, but magnets and supercooling technology keep it contained.

* What is nuclear fusion?

Two or more atomic nuclei are combined to form one or more different atomic nuclei and subatomic particles(neutrons or protons). By bringing two nuclei together - Nuclear forces become active and glue the nuclei together. They will act against the electrostatic forces where positively charged nuclei repel each other. This is the reason why nuclear fusion reactions occurs mostly in high density, high-temperature environment. And its practically different to achieve under laboratory conditions.

The Chinese HL-2M PROJECT will provide critical technical support for its participation  in the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor
